Why Reading?π
Hello fam!π
I haven’t written anything for months recently,π but I decided to write something for you guys that can really help make you better. You might have seen some of your friends always reading books, or perhaps you’re the one who always reads.π
This blog is about why reading?Like I’ve heard people saying watching pictures on Netflix is far more easy than reading, so why reading? π€
To be honest, I myself am not into pictures or TV shows etc., I’ll prefer reading over these screen shows to be honest. I find it so peaceful and a me-time thing. Like I feel myself away from the world for a moment, away from all the surrounding toxic. It doesn’t need any struggle to be honest. If you want some peaceful time, have a mug of coffee☕, a book in your handπ, and start reading. You’ll enter the world of peace and serenity. ✨
This is basically my point of view about why I always want to read. Let's get to what actually reading can help you in. So today I want to share some crucial things reading has helped me in. I know, you might be thinking, "Why should I read when there are so many other things to do?" But trust meπ, reading is like having a secret superpower. Let’s dive into how reading can help you in more ways than you can imagine. π¦Έ
1. Escape from Reality π➡π
Ever had one of those days where everything just feels... eh? Reading can be your escape door. When you dive into a good book, you’re transported to another world. It’s like a mini-vacation without leaving your room. Whether you are flying through Hogwarts or exploring a dystopian future, reading lets you leave your worries behind and experience something completely different.
2. Boost Your Imagination ππ‘
Reading fires up your imagination. It’s like a drill for your brain. When you read, you visualize characters, settings, and action scenes. This helps you think creatively and come up with new ideas. Plus, it makes daydreaming even more fun! π
3. Learn New Things ππ§
Books are a treasure trove of knowledge. Whether it’s a novel, a memoir, or even a comic book, you’re always learning something new. Reading can introduce you to different cultures, historical events, and scientific concepts. It’s like having a library of information right at your fingertips.π
4. Improve Your Focus and Concentration π―π
We live in a world full of distractions. Reading helps you build focus and concentration. When you get into a book, you learn to tune out the noise and pay attention to the story. This skill is super useful for school and life.
5. Build Empathy π€π
Reading about different characters and their experiences helps you understand and empathize with others. It’s like walking in someone else’s shoes. This can make you more compassionate and aware of the feelings of those around you.
6. Expand Your Vocabulary ππ€
The more you read, the more words you encounter. This naturally expands your vocabulary and improves your language skills. You’ll find yourself using new and interesting words without even realizing it. Plus, it’s great for impressing teachers and friends!
7. Reduce Stress π§♀️π
Life can be stressful, especially as a teenager. Reading is a great way to decompress and relax. Getting lost in a story can calm your mind and help you feel more at peace. It’s a perfect way to end a hectic day. π
8. Improve Your Writing ✍️
If you’re a writer like me, reading is essential. It exposes you to different writing styles, genres, and techniques. You learn what works and what doesn’t, which can help you develop your own unique voice as a writer.
9. Strengthen Your Brain π§ πͺ
Reading is like a mental drill. It engages different parts of your brain, helping to keep it sharp and active. Studies have shown that reading can even help prevent cognitive decline as you age. So, think of it as brain energy!
10. Enjoyment and Fun ππ
Last but not least, reading is fun!
There’s nothing quite like getting lost in a great story. Whether it’s a
thrilling adventure, a heartwarming romance, or a spine-chilling mystery, there’s
a book out there for everyone.
These are only a few points; I could fill my whole journal with why I read or why I always want to read. To be honest, I’m an introvert; people sometimes find me rude because of the words I speak, but trust me, I’m not like that. I’m that kind of girl who follows this rule: Treat me the way you want yourself to be treated by me. Let’s not get this blog personal. π
I’ve read some self-growth books I
want to recommend to you:
1. Atomic Habits by James Clear
2. The 5 AM Club by Robin Sharma
3. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a
F*ck by Mark Manson
These three books are very good for
your self-growth and will help you a lot.
Okay, I want to share something with you guys. Your friend is a writer too, yes that’s true! I don’t write well, but I tried my best and published two small pieces of books on Wattpad. Please have a read and let me know if you liked them or not. The links to the books are given below:
Happy reading, Beautifulπ«π️
Love
Marjan Faiz
